Abstract (EN)
This research comprehensively examines Imam Abu Nasr al-Qushayrī's (430-514 AH) approach to Qur'anic recitations (qirā'āt) in his exegesis "al-Taysīr fī al-Tafsīr". This commentary, first published in its complete form in 2022, is considered one of the significant exegetical works of the fifth century. The primary objective of this study is to reveal al-Qushayrī's methodology in presenting both mutawātir (widely transmitted) and shādh (anomalous) recitations, his linguistic and grammatical substantiation, his preference criteria among different readings, and to analyze the impact of these recitations on exegesis and jurisprudential rulings. The research aims to identify al-Qushayrī's approach to qirā'āt using inductive and analytical methods. The study consists of three main sections: The first section examines Imam al-Qushayrī's personal and scholarly life, his teachers, students, and works, while investigating the political, religious, and academic characteristics of the Khorasan and Nishapur region where he lived. The second section provides a general introduction to the science of qirā'āt, explaining its definition, historical development, and acceptance criteria, followed by a detailed analysis of al-Qushayrī's method of presenting mutawātir and shādh recitations. The third section deeply examines al-Qushayrī's methodology in substantiating qirā'āt through the Qur'an, hadith, companions' statements, and Arabic language, his way of transmitting scholars' preferences, his own selection criteria, and the profound impact of these recitations on deriving meanings and jurisprudential rulings. The research findings demonstrate that al-Qushayrī adhered to principles of scholarly precision, comprehensiveness, linguistic depth, and objectivity when dealing with qirā'āt. While showing deep respect for mutawātir recitations, he also effectively utilized shādh recitations as a means to enrich the commentary and expand semantic dimensions. The study reveals that al-Qushayrī, through his fundamental principle that "the Qur'an itself is the proof," brought a new perspective to qirā'āt methodology, and that this approach represents a significant contribution to the Islamic exegetical heritage.
