Abstract (EN)

This research was carried out to compare the IMI group and conventional rice varieties in terms of yield and quality characteristics. The experiment was established in the producer's field in the village of Küçükkarakarlı in Tekirdağ province in a randomized complete block design with 4 replicates during the 2020 rice growing season. In the study, Rekor CL, Efsane CL, Köprü CL, Luna CL, Colombo CL varieties in the IMI group and Osmancık-97, Yatkın, Edirne, Cameo, Vasco varieties in the conventional group were used as materials. In the research, grain yield, number of plants per square meter, number of days to flowering, number of days to mature, plant height, panicle length, grain number per panicle, grain weight per panicle, harvest index, thousand-grain weight, test weight, total milled rice yield, head rice yield, red rice rate, raw grain rate and sterility rate were investigated. It was determined that conventional varieties in terms of number of days to mature, plant height, thousand-grain weight, test weight, red rice rate and raw grain rate, and IMI group varieties in terms of total milled rice yield and head rice yield have higher values, and two groups are similar in terms of grain yield, number of plants per square meter, number of days to flowering, panicle length, grain number per panicle, grain weight per panicle, harvest index and sterility rate. As a result, it can be said that IMI group rice varieties have comparable characteristics with conventional varieties in terms of grain yield and especially quality.
