Abstract (EN)

In today's rapidly evolving digital transformation era, high-tech organizations are increasingly reliant on advanced information and communication technologies (ICT) to foster innovation and sustain a competitive edge. However, the continuous adoption of these technologies results in a new type of occupational stress known as technostress, which significantly impacts employees' cognitive functions and behavioral responses. This research explores how technostress influences intrapreneurship (strategic renewal and venture behavior), with a specific emphasis on the mediating influence of decision-making styles, particularly rational and intuitive decision-making. Based on data gathered from 330 employees working in a high-tech firm in the Netherlands, this study employed Smart PLS 4.0 to examine the relationships between key constructs. The results demonstrate that technostress has a positive relationship with intuitive decision-making. Rational decision-making has a positive impact on both strategic renewal and venture behavior. Moreover, technostress negatively impacts both aspects of intrapreneurship. However, decision-making styles did not serve as a mediator in the association between technostress and intrapreneurial behavior. These insights provide meaningful practical implications for organizational leaders seeking to alleviate the mental strain caused by digital stressors and for fostering a workplace culture that supports intrapreneurial initiatives.
