Abstract (EN)
The shear strength of soils has a very important place in the design of structures in geotechnical engineering. Shear strength parameters are used in determining the stress-strain characteristics of soils, bearing capacity calculations of foundations, design of retaining structures, stability analyzes of highway route, stability analyzes of embankment dams, landslide analyzes and slope stability verifications. The strength parameters to be used in the analysis are evaluated on the basis of effective and total stresses. Drained (effective) parameters are used in long-term analyzes and undrained (total) parameters are used in short-term analyses. To determine the effective parameters required in long-term analysis, it is necessary to conduct experiments with different laboratory test methods and to compare the results obtained for reliable design. In this study, it is aimed to find the drained shear strength parameters of fine grained soils. For this purpose, consolidated-drained (CD) triaxial pressure test, shear box test and ring shear tests were performed on fine-grained soil samples prepared with compaction characteristics, and the results were compared.
