Information design examples applied in public places in turkiye and an alternative indoor information design implementation proposal

Humankind has been using visual communication to convey information since ages. Thus, existence of information depends on the existence of humankind. Contemporarily in Information Society it becomes easier to reach information at any time and anywhere. It also becomes harder to distinguish the necessary information from the unnecessary one. Information design is a solution to this information anxiety. Information design is an interdisciplinary field, which is about sorting out and simplifying existing information and converting it to a common visual form in terms of aesthetic and communication principles for a wide range of audience. The aim of this thesis is to examine information design and its application fields in regard of examples implemented in public places in Türkiye. In the scope of this thesis, a survey and a case study are conducted on the implementation proposal subject, which helped to particularly determine significant deficiencies of information design systems applied in government offices in Türkiye. As a result, a solution proposal is offered on the subject for providing equal services to all citizens that use government offices. Solution proposal includes information design implementation suggestions over indoor pilot area for improving the existing information design system.
