Innovation, high technology exports and economic growth relationship: The case of Turkey

In this study, how much extent contribution of the innovation and high technology export to economic growth in Turkey from 1990 until 2018 and following years were researched. In the first part of the study; general information were examined related to R&D (Research and Development) expenditures which are the subheadings of innovation, patent application numbers and high technology export concepts and information were given about the their situation in Turkey with the help of table. In the second part of the study; general information about economic growth were included. In the last part of the study; we have aimed to determine the share of R&D expenditure in GDP in Turkey, the number of patent aplications per million population and the impact on economic growth of the GDP share of high technology export. For this purpose, within Time Series Analysis, the Vector Autoregressive (VAR) models created and by using these variables as of 1990-2017, effect on economic growth of innovation and high technology export in Turkey were tried to research by testing.
