Factors which set quality performance in projects of construction sector: Izmir

Nowadays firms are in a very competitive environment because of globalisation. All firms have to keep up with the change in their environment and acquire competitive advantage if they want to stay in existence. This necessity isvalid for construction sector, which is one of the most important sectors of Turkish economy, as much as any other sectors.Quality performance is the distinguishing concept which gives the opportunity to the construction companies to achieve competitive advantage. It is possible that Turkish construction companies might ignore the quality performance in their projects which is obtained by satisfying the customer expectations and requirements when timing and cost goals are achieved. Nevertheless the cost created by corrections and multiple-handling which are caused by low quality performance affect cost and timing goals.The goal of this study is to identify the success and failure factors which determine quality performance in construction sector. By taking these factors into consideration i it is aimed to maximize the quality performance and thus acquire competitive advantage for the Turkish construction companies nationally and globally.
