Abstract (EN)

In this study, the effectiveness of psychoanalytic psychotherapy on human-caused psychological traumas is investigated. Sample of this study includes 92 people 49 of whom are women ranging from 20 to 70 years old who consulted HRFT to receive treatment because of torture and human-caused psychological traumas they experienced in 2012-2018. They were diagnosed as having post-traumatic stress disorder, acute stress disorder, major depression disorder. The Clinical Global Impressions Scale was used to determine the severity of the disease when individuals received psychological diagnosis and the level of progression during psychotherapy. The diagnosis of the individuals was made by the psychiatrists of the foundation and the treatments were evaluated by the same psychiatrists. Psychotherapies were designed by psychoanalysts or psychotherapists who were in the process of individual psychoanalytic formation. As a result of the research, it was found that there was a significant improvement in the severity of the disease with the help of a continuous psychoanalytic psychotherapy and it had a moderate effect. When the literature is examined, it has been observed that the studies on the effectiveness of the psychoanalytic psychotherapy applied to individuals who have a diagnosis of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder -particularly related to torture- are very limited. Therefore, it is considered that this research will contribute to both the literature and the clinical field.
