Abstract (EN)
Education is a fundamental human right that is vital for individual development and societal progress. However, the Rohingya community has been denied this right due to systematic discrimination and persecution in Myanmar. Furthermore, in the countries where they have sought refuge such as Bangladesh, Pakistan, Malaysia, and India they encounter legal and social barriers. These challenges limit the Rohingya people's access to educational opportunities and complicate their social and economic integration. This study aims to analyze the legal, administrative, economic, social, and cultural factors that hinder the Rohingya people's access to education and evaluate their impact on educational opportunities. Furthermore, the study addresses the effectiveness of proposed solutions to overcome these barriers. A theoretical analysis of international conventions on the right to education was conducted, and the living conditions of Rohingya individuals in 12 countries were examined. In addition, a survey was conducted with members of the Rohingya diaspora, and the collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistical methods. The research seeks to answer the following questions: What factors hinder the Rohingya people's access to education? How do these factors affect their education? What solutions can be proposed to improve educational opportunities for the Rohingya people? The findings indicate that the lack of legal status, particularly the absence of identification documents and issues related to diploma recognition, are among the most significant obstacles to educational access for the Rohingya people. Furthermore, challenges within refugee camps, movement restrictions, and economic hardships force many children to abandon their education and engage in labor. Social and cultural factors, particularly language barriers, also negatively impact students' academic performance. The study recommends strengthening international cooperation, improving educational infrastructure in refugee camps, and promoting cultural adaptation programs. Additionally, it emphasizes the need for broader initiatives to end the persecution faced by the Rohingya people and to raise global awareness about the silent cries of this oppressed community.
