Abstract (EN)

The banking sector diversified its services by keeping up with thedeveloping technology. Field of banking obtained a new dimension with thissituation. ?Internet banking?, a subbranch of e-banking, both increased profits ofbanks by decreasing costs and expanded the banking field. In addition, banksdecreased the number of offices by the help of internet banking.The first internet banking was applied by Türkiye ş Bank in 1998 inour country. Then, Garanti Bank and other banks followed it. Some of the servicespresented by internet banking is; transactions of deposit accounts, transactions ofinvestment account, money transfers, E.F.T. (Electronic Fund Transfer), receiptpayments, tax payments.There are some risks of internet banking both in terms of bank nadcostumers. The most important one is the problem of security. The mostly-obsevedmethods of hackers are phishing, e-mail and keyloggers. They aim to controlaccounts of costumers by reaching passwords, account numbers and user names.Banks take precautions to fight with this method.The education of the use of internet banking and its relation to education. Inorder to explain this topic, initially concept of internet banking, subsequently internetbanking and safety are. In the last section, the questionnaire made about this topic isevaluated and propositions for solutions are presented.
