Education in the internet

IV ABSTRACT EDUCATION IN THE INTERNET Hasan Serhan YAYLACI Educational Sciences # Afyon Kocatepe University, Institute of Social Sciences January 2000 Adviser : Prof. Dr. Mustafa ERGÜN In this research, it was tried to determine the basic feature of education at the Internet and son of application. With this aim, passing from "Long Distance Education" to "Computer Supported Education" from "Computer Supported Education" to "Internet Supported Education" and from "Internet Supported Education" to "Education In The Internet" was investigated. In this research is investigated in developments of long distance education and computer supported education. In the chapter of Internet supported education and Internet education were investigated in the common titles of historical development, conceptual foundations, structure and process, example applications, general tendency in this subject matter. Finally, it was investigated to answer the question "What kind of new application will Internet education put forward to current and future Turkish educational system?". This research was designed as a theoretical research. When theoretical frame of the research was being formed, firstly the literature, which is connected with Internet education, was investigated. As Internet has a continuously developing and changing structure, current researches and news groups were followed. In addition, a questionnaire form was developed on the Internet and Internet address (http://www.web-tr.com/anket/form.pl?ID=hsy&T=3) was set to news group ofPC Magazine Turkey, Informatics association of Turkey and BOTE Online is provided with volunteer application. Therefore, as education in Internet has been applied, it is inevitable that we should put forward suitable standards for Turkish Educational System and for Turks and should develop them. It is considered that results of this research may give a new perspective to national application in the Internet.
