Immunological and hematological markers before and after pfizer and sinopharm COVID-19 vaccines in Iraq\Baghdad

The aim of this study was to compare the efficacy of two types of vaccines administered to COVID-19 cases in Iraq, to determine the level and presence of serum anti-SARS-COV-2 antibodies after vaccination, and to monitor immunological, humeral and inflammatory markers after the first repeat of both Sinopharm and Pfizer vaccines. Within the scope of the study, samples were taken from a total of 307 individuals. According to the data obtained, neutralizing antibody (N.Ab) and IgM showed highly significant changes (p< 0.00) after the first repeat of Sinopharm vaccine. In addition, significant changes in IL-6, IL-10, IL-17, C3, Eosinophils and Ferritin were detected in Sinopharm group. Sinopharm vaccine stimulates the immune system and provides humeral and cellular immunity. In addition, a strong significant correlation was determined between immunologic markers and N.Ab. While no significant correlation was found with C3, negative correlations were found between IL-10 and IL-17 and N.Ab. In Pfizer vaccinated cases, N.Ab, IgG and C3 showed no significant change, while IgM showed a very high significant change. In addition to these, a very high significant change in Ferritin was determined. After the administration of the first dose in the Pfizer group, the number of positive N.Ab by sex was 19.8% in women and 14.7% in men.
