Abstract (EN)

Iran?s nuclear programme is still at the top of world political agenda. United States, European Union and their allias claim that they have proof that Iran is trying to develop nuclear arms. So, they have been implementing policies to prevent Iran to acquire and develope nuclear tecnology. But Iran claims it had right to pursue a peaceful nuclear programme.IAEA inspectors have been carrying out inspections on Iran?s nuclear sites. But they?ve acquired no concrete evidence that Iran is developing nuclear arms. However, Iran has been referred to United Nations Security Council because of its allegedly non-peaceful nuclear programme. In accordance with Council resolutions, economic and military sanctions have been implementing on Iran.Russia and China have been trying to prevent any kind of sanctions which could harm their interests. They, in a sence, support Iran in the Security Council. In addition to Russia and China, some regional states generally recognize Iran?s right to pursue peaceful nuclear tecnology and object United States policies. However it is obvious that Iran?s nuclear challenge will exist as long as Iran has such an Islamic regime and the regional oil reserves are so important for the United States.
