The mediating role of procrastination behavior in the effect of work-family conflict on organizational deviance

This study aims to determine the mediating role of procrastination behavior in the effect of work-family conflict on organizational deviance. Within this scope, a conceptual and theoretical framework concerning work-family conflict, organizational deviance, and procrastination behavior was first established, and the study's hypotheses were presented accordingly. Subsequently, the research methodology and findings obtained from the survey conducted within the study were detailed, alongside the results derived from the applied analyses. The sample of the study consists of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) operating in Kayseri. Likert-type scales were employed in the questionnaire, and the partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) method was used to validate the research model. SPSS and Smart-PLS programs were utilized for the analysis of the data obtained. According to the findings, procrastination behavior plays a mediating role in the effect of work-family conflict on organizational deviance. Additionally, difference analyses were conducted between socio-demographic variables and scale scores. By employing structural equation modeling and examining the mediating effects of conceptual variables, this study aims to contribute to the body of knowledge in the literature.
