The Importance of work analysis from human resources management point of view and its relation with other human resources functions

iiiABSTRACTNew applications and activities have been made obligatory in human resourcesfield as well as in all related fields with the effects of increased competition conditionsand improving technologies. Human resources management has more responsibilities atthe moment. Besides the tasks of personnel management, human resources managementis carrying out its activities in many fields, such as career management, performancemanagement, job design and motivation management. Human resources while carryingout these activities need the detailed information about labour and human resource tofulfill the responsibilities efficiently and to make an objective decision. Work analysishelps the enterprises in this respect because job descriptions and specifications aboutduties and employees exist in the job profile at the end of the work analysis. Workanalysis gives a support to managers in many areas from human resources activities tohuman resources strategic planning.The aim of this work is to study whether work analysis, considered to be veryhelpful in written sources and used in every field of human resources management, isbeneficial to enterprices or not. Data are obtained from Eczacıbaşı Karo Ceramics andNova Model (Kalıp) Factories. Scanning model is used as a experimental method. Theexisting data have been gathered from both factories? mid level executives and topexecutives by means of questionnaire and structural interview method and evaluated byfrequency method. The results of this search suggest that there is a direct relationbetween the work analysis and profitability, productivity and cost reduction. Also, it hasbeen determined that work analysis is a helpful data source for all human resourcesfunctions.
