Abstract (EN)

In this study, the effect of conical ring shaped elements which are replaced at certain points of the inner duct of a heat exchanger, on heat transfer and pressure loss were experimentally investigated. In the experimental study, hot air which is passing through inner duct of exchanger was used as hot flow while water was used as cold flow. The parallel and counter flow characteristic of the streams within Reynolds: 3000 and Reynolds: 10000 were also examined. The conical ring shaped elements were replaced at different points inside of the inner duct of the heat exchanger during the experimental work. It was observed that the increase of Reynolds Numbers, resulted with a 78 % treatment at heat transferred. At the same time, the pressure loss increased by 250 % as a result of increase at Reynolds Number. At the end of the experiment, necessary entropy generatıon calculatıons were completed for getting the thermodynamic analysis of this treatment method.
