Cultural intelligence of occupational safety specialiststhe effect of occupational safety levels on occupational safety services applications

Occupational health and safety includes all the activities that must be done to eliminate or minimize the situations that may adversely affect the employees and other individuals in the workplace. Occupational health and safety activities in the workplace are carried out by an occupational safety specialist. Cultural intelligence is the ability of individuals in different cultural environments to understand each other. The occupational safety specialist with a high level of cultural intelligence can easily convey the dangers in the workplace and the information that needs to be conveyed to other workplace stakeholders and understand and interpret the feedbacks from them very easily. This research, which used mixed research methods and was carried out with the descriptive survey method, one of the quantitative research methods, was carried out with the participation of 329 occupational safety experts registered in OHS-CLERK throughout Turkey. In the research, the "Duties of the Occupational Safety Specialist Scale" and the "Cultural Intelligence Scale" were used. As a result of the research, it was determined that Cultural Intelligence had a moderate positive effect on occupational safety services practices at a rate of 49% (β=.49, p=.000). In the last part, suggestions were made to the practitioners of occupational health and safety services in order to carry out occupational health and safety services better.
