Abstract (EN)

Although it is not expected that the precast wall system with the integrated innovative insulation material which has high thermal resistance and designed in the first stage of the project will have an effect on the lateral load carrying capacity, the damage status and the integrity of the coating material under earthquake loading was reported with tests conducted in the scope of this thesis. Earthquake performance of proposed pre-cast concrete wall elements with high thermal insulation capacity were compared with the conventional reinforced concrete shear walls used in standard structures under the effect of in-plane, reversible repetitive horizontal static loading similar to the earthquake behavior. Within the scope of the experimental study conducted to obtain the earthquake performance of the proposed prefabricated double layer reinforced concrete shear wall system; four different full scale shear walls with and without openings were tested. Keywords: Earthquake resistance, Thermal insulation, Foam concrete, Pre-cast reinforced sandwich wall, Pumice.
