Abstract (EN)
According to the data of TÜİK in Turkey, as of January 2025, the total workforce is 35 million 534 thousand people and the unemployment rate is 14.9%. One in every four people included in the workforce is employed in the industrial sector and approximately 60% in the service sector. The high number of people working in a high-risk working environment brings the issue of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) to the forefront. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is an issue that is emphasized in occupational health and safety. PPE is a form of precaution that protects and insulates the individual from the element of danger. In this study, laboratory coats, coveralls and vest equipment produced with technologies in the textile and apparel sector were investigated in detail in terms of material, production and standards. The role of the textile and apparel sector, which is a strong sector in our country, in OHS in terms of PPE materials was emphasized.
