Abstract (EN)

The tourism sector is a labor-intensive sector by nature and the position of tourist guides, one of the important parts of this sector, is an indisputable fact. Intense working conditions, the effort spent for the satisfaction of guests and many similar factors actually cause an increase in the level of work stress in tourist guides over time. This situation may cause their psychological well-being to decrease. The main purpose of this study is to examine the effect of job stress on psychological well-being in terms of tourist guides. Within the scope of the research, firstly, the theoretical framework was created by reviewing the literature on the variables that constitute the subject of the research. In the application phase, questionnaire technique was used as a data collection method. The population of the research consists of tourist guides affiliated to Association of Tourist Guides Chambers (TUREB). Data were collected from a total of 234 professional tourist guides. The hypotheses used in the research were analyzed through SPSS program. According to the results of the analysis, it is seen that job stress of tourist guides negatively affects their psychological well-being.
