Relationship between job satisfaction and occupational burnout: An application on the workers of the aviation industry

In our research, answer is searched for the question which "is there any relationship between the level of burnout and level of job satisfaction in the business of those who work in companies operating in the aviation industry in Turkey?", and in this context it is aimed to determine whether occupational burnout of aviation industry workers has an effect on job satisfaction levels, and if so, the severity and direction of this effect. In the survey conducted with 202 employees working in organizations which operating in the aviation industry; a survey consisting of 48 questions was applied which includes personal information form, Maslach Burnout Scale and Minnesota Job Satisfaction Scale's questions. In the analysis conducted with SPSS 22 program, the validity, reliability, distribution and frequency analyzes of the survey were carried out and then the relationship between emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and personal success sub-dimensions of the burnout and internal and external satisfaction, which is one of the sub-dimensions of job satisfaction were examined by corr. and reg. tests. As a result of the analysis; while they reveal a negative, medium level relationship between internal and external job satisfaction and emotional exhaustion and depersonalization dimensions of white collar workers working in aviation industry, they reveal a positive, medium level relationship between internal and external job satisfaction and personal success. Besides, according to the regression tests, the coefficient of emotional exhaustion and personal achievement was significant based on the effect of job satisfaction on 2 dimensions (internal and external satisfaction,); the depersonalization in the opposite is insignificant.
