Situation analysis for women entrepreneurs in İskenderun

From the past to the present, the presence of women in business life, their showing themselves and making their voices heard have caused them to face difficulties from time to time. The underestimation of the way they do business in business life and their inability to achieve equality of opportunity in many issues, especially education, are among the situations in which women have experienced since the past on their entrepreneurial journeys. In the past, the existence of perspectives that restrict girls' education, force them to marry at a child age, threaten and use violence prevented women entrepreneurs from revealing their entrepreneurial potential by getting an education. These barriers have decreased significantly today, increasing incentives and measures related to the education of girls and women, achieving women's rights in education, social life and business life, and increasing the number of women entrepreneurs. This study aims to reveal the educational status of women entrepreneurs in Iskenderun and their status regarding their entrepreneurial potential. The survey method was used in the study. Women entrepreneurs in Iskenderun constitute the sample of the study. Women entrepreneurs in Iskenderun constitute the sample of the study. It is seen that the elimination of women's shortcomings in terms of education is an important element for them to develop their entrepreneurial potential. It is important to increase the necessary supports to eliminate the educational deficiencies that will increase the entrepreneurial potential of women entrepreneurs, most of whom usually own small-scale enterprises.
