Effective time management in organizations and an application

VI ABSTRACT In this study, methods of time management, which is very important for managers, is stated. This study is examined in four parts. The first three parts deals with theory whereas the fourth part has an application inside in which time management procedures used in an institution and certain time traps against managers of that institution examined. In the first part, basic management theory is given. Definition of universal management and the manager, and the relation between the manager and management functions are stated. In the second part, definition of time and importance of time management are stated. By observing the manager's time management, in and out time management of organizations and family are examined. Apart from these subjects, the influence of management theories on time management is stated. In the third part, time traps against a functional time management strategy and ways to get rid of these traps are stated. Since it is thought that a functional time management depends on planning, authority transfer, functional communication, avoiding stress and degreasing conflicts, each subjects examined in separate parts in relation to each other. Fourth part is the application part. In this part, a chosen institute, its managers and time traps are examined according to the previous parts of the study. For this aim, time management and time traps against department directories of chosen institute are examined by interviews.
