Abstract (EN)

Lean manufacturing is a management philosophy that aims to enhance process efficiency by reducing waste. Companies use various lean maturity assessment models to determine their current level of lean maturity. Many models have been developed over time to measure lean maturity levels; however, existing models in the literature have proven insufficient due to their limited sectoral scope or practical implementation challenges. As a result of the limitations identified in the existing literature, this thesis highlights the need for a more comprehensive and easily applicable model that can be implemented across all sectors. In this study, a new lean maturity model called the Lean Maturity Level (LML), consisting of twelve dimensions, has been developed. The practical application of the model was demonstrated through a multi-participant survey and a focus group study conducted within the company. The data obtained were analyzed both without criterion weights and with criterion weights. The dimensions of the model were weighted using the Step-Wise Weight Assessment Ratio Analysis (SWARA) method. Using the obtained results, the company's current lean maturity level was determined, and improvement areas were identified accordingly. The LML model designed in this study provides a comprehensive approach for determining the lean maturity level of companies, thereby contributing to the literature while also offering organizations an effective assessment tool. The LML model supports companies in implementing lean and sustainable practices, enabling them to optimize resource utilization. In doing so, it contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs), specifically Goal 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth, Goal 9 – Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, Goal 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production, and indirectly to Goal 13 – Climate Action.
