Abstract (EN)
There are a number of works produced during Divan literature which lasted for six centuries about. These works are the records which belong to our past. They are the most important sources of information for our past.Hikmetî is a poet who lived in the 18 th. century. He wrote his great work ?Divan? and dictionary named ?Tuhfe-i Nâ-dîde?.In capter one, Hikmetî?s life and his literary approach are examined.In chapter two, structure and content of his divan are thoroughly studied. Finally, the text of his Divan is presented critically.Religion and sufism cover a significant part in his Divan. There are 645 poems in the book consisting of dîbâce, 131 kaside, 430 gazel, 38 murabba, 11 muhammes, 10 müsedds, 6 müsemmen, 2 muaşşer, 3 kıta, 3 mathnawis, 11 müfred.Hikmetî is a sufi poet belonging to Uşşakiye line of Halvetiyye. He lived in Edirne and passed away in Edirne in 1773.The poet is proficient in using Turkish language. He at times makes use of metaphors and doubling. His poems are under the influence of Harfiyye. Hikmetî benefits from idioms and proverbs when they are necessary. This adds richness into his expressions.Hikmetî, a successful poet, has a special place in our cultural history.
