Abstract (EN)

Turkish Education History indicates us that since the earliest history Turkish Nation had teachers and pupils. They did education through formal and common puplic education. It was cared to train those teachers who work in the formal and common puplic education. During Ottoman Empire, schooling the teacher policy formed according to the political characteristics of the period, political developments influenced the education and teacher training directly. The Ottoman teacher training and education policy and practices become different and developed when they were under the influence of the West, in the Constitutional and Autocracy period there were different policy and practices. Atatürk, who considers the education as an improvement means of community, regarded the teachers essential element of this development and education and gave active tasks. With the Republic, it was aimed to set up national, contemporary and secular educational system and train teachers who will raise new generation to eternise the Republic. To start from that point of view, in this period in the field of teacher training policies and practices and many official regulations had been done. İsmet İnönü, who took over the presidency duty, had become the 'Turkish National Chief'. During his reign, villages and villagers had been the central core of national process. In that direction, the radical changes in the educadion area had been done to reach the reforms of the Republic to the villages and villagers. The priority of those practices had been the primary education. İsmet İnönü considered the primary education the essential process of being nation. For that reason, the priority of teacher training policies had been the primary education teacher training. From that point of the political views, many performances that had marked to the history of education and teacher training were started in this period.
