Abstract (EN)
Amygdalin and its epimer neoamygdalin, a cyanoglycosides found in the bitter almond kernel, play an important role in traditional medicine. In this thesis, the amygdalin molecule was isolated in diastereomeric purity by purification of extracts obtained from bitter almond kernels by solid-liquid, liquid-liquid extraction and by chromatographic methods. The structural characterization of amygdalin was performed using spectroscopic techniques such as FT-IR, UV-VIS, 1H, and 13C NMR.
