Evaluation of depression and burnout level of the health personnel (nurse, midwife, health officer, and emergency officer) working in Dr Lutfi Kırdar Training and Research Hospital i̇n İstanbul

Depression! It is one of the most common diseases of our time employees. The reasons for this illness are work load and work environment. Even this work envirnment is health environment and there is some limit to the dedicated service time for one sick person leads to a work load in a person and this work load negatively affects the person socially and mentally. Affected health worker would not concentrate on his/her work properly and meet with two illnesses; burnout syndrome and depression. This study aims to learn to measure the depression and burnout level of Dr Lütfi Kırdar Training ve Research Hospital`s assistant health personnel (nurse, midwife, health officers, and emergency personnel) caused by those negative effects explained in the first paragraph. There are 200 participants, collected by questionnaire forms, and evaluated by SPSS programme. Bonferroni correction for statistical analysis ANOVAanalysis of variance, independent samples t test, and correlation analysis was used, the analysis resultsevaluated in 95% confidence intervals and averagevalues "are shown as mean ± standard deviation. Burnout and depresion situations of the participants have been evaluated by Maslach Burnout Scale and Beck Depresion Inventory. Depression and burnout will not finish in health personnel and will be getting bigger if not blocked. The burnout syndrome can be decreased to minimum level by improving the working conditions and providing psychological support in this subject.
