Abstract (EN)

In our thesis we examine a Serbian newspaper named Carigradski Glasnik that is served as a publication of The Serbian Community residing in the Ottoman Empire after Serbia gained independence at The Berlin Congress. The newspaper played a significant role in understanding the lives, social activities, opinions and relations of the Ottoman Serbs with the Ottoman State in the period of late Ottoman Empire. In this study, we examined the newspaper from various perspectives to understand how it presented the Ottoman-Serbian relations, its stance towards the Ottoman Empire, and how it reflected the situation of Ottoman Serbs especially after the Second Constitutional Era. Our primary source was the readable issues of the newspaper available on the website of the National Library of Serbia. Also the study was supported by secondary sources to complement our analysis. By adopting a multidimensional approach and interpretation, we aimed to shed light on the discussed topics.
