Classification of poem mecmua "Mecmua-i Eş'ar" (1b-80b) registered under the number nekty01532 in Istanbul University Rare Books Library based on translated, criticized text and MESTAP

SUMMARY Poetry anthologies, one of the significant sources of Classical Turkish literature, play a crucial role in the identification and evaluation of literary texts. These anthologies are handwritten collections of poems by various poets, generally compiled according to the taste of the compiler. Although the compiler and the date of compilation are often unknown, anthologies are highly valuable in reflecting the literary preferences of their time. Anthologies not only include poems by well-known poets, but also contain works by names that are not mentioned in biographical dictionaries (tezkires) or literary histories. In this respect, they hold an important place among the most valuable sources for the history of Turkish literature, following tezkires and divans. In this study, the poetry anthology titled Mecmua-i Eşʿâr, registered under the number NEKTY01532 at the Rare Books Library of Istanbul University (folios 1b–80b), has been examined. Our study consists of three sections. In the first section, the anthology is introduced. This part includes a description of the anthology, its general and physical characteristics, the time period of the poems it contains, and information about the poets represented in it. In the second section, a MESTAP table is provided. This table has been prepared in accordance with the Systematic Classification Project of Anthologies (MESTAP), which aims to make a detailed classification and inventory of all anthologies, including both poetry anthologies and cönks.
