Evaluation of electrical welded fire exit reasons connected to the workplace type: The MCDM approach

Fire causes injury, death and large financial losses. When the causes of fire are examined, it is seen that most of them are caused by electricity. Electric fires, which are one of the important problems in the world and in our country, can cause serious loss of life and property both in living spaces and workplaces. For this reason, in this thesis, it is aimed to indicate the importance of electric fires, to investigate their causes and to determine the relationship between the size of the workplace and the causes of fire. In this study, the 2018 fire reports prepared by Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department were examined and the causes of fire in the workplaces and the number of fires during the year were determined. In order to examine the relationship between fire causes and workplace sizes, a questionnaire prepared in accordance with the Analytical Hierarchy Process method was applied to 22 fire-fighters working in Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department. Among the causes of fire that emerged as a result of the work on the data, 32.6% of the errors in electrical components were in the first place, while the errors during use were in the second place with 29.1%.
