Investigation of the difference between the trainings and work performances of the personnel working in the fire department: Example of İMM

Firefighters known as fire fighters in the world; They not only extinguish residential and workplace fires, but also respond to all events, including emergency events that require all kinds of rescue, disasters such as earthquakes, floods, flash floods, avalanches, storms, industrial and forest fires, and hazardous material and CBRN cases. Every year, dozens of firefighters in the world and in our country suffer accidents during interventions, as a result of which temporary or permanent disability or even loss of life may occur. The aim of this research is to determine the significant difference between the job performance of the personnel working in the Istanbul Fire Department and whether they have received training or not. In addition, it is also an examination of the significant difference between the marital status, age distribution, education levels, staff status and total tenure of the employees and their job performance. The population of the research is I.B.B. It was applied to 386 personnel who are fire brigades and whose sample includes differences in age, gender, marital status, graduation, tenure and staff title in the Istanbul fire brigade. In this context, t-test and one-way analysis of variance (Anova) were applied for independent samples since the data showed normal distribution by using SPSS statistical program. According to the results of the research, the job performance of firefighters who received training on innovation, health, safety, being effective in disasters and efficiency was higher than those who did not receive training. In addition, the job performance of firefighters with high school and associate degree education was higher than those with high school and secondary school education. However, there is no significant difference between the marital status, titles, ages and total tenure of the firefighters and their job performance.
