Abstract (EN)

In this study, the relation between the equatorial abnormalities relative to the ionosphere region and east-west directed oscillations (QBO) which occurred Quasi Biennial in the stratosphere in equatorial region was examined statistically. In the theoretical part of the study, QBO and the transportation processes of QBO to the upper layers, and the effective parameters during these processes were identified. Initially, we required to emphasize the IRI programme which is used to calculate the ionosphere, and to compute the deviation of the calculations made by the IRI programme from the real value and the relation of this deviation with the QBO in the statistical analysis of the work. Therefore, the relation between the difference (∆NmF2) of the calculated NmF2 from the measured NmF2 value, and QBO were examined by using the distribution curve in all study. From the obtained results, the linear relation between QBO and ∆NmF2, and the variability on this relation depending on the years and geographical locations were observed. Secondly, we examined the relation between the measured NmF2 as well as the calculated NmF2 and QBO by using the correlation coefficient method. In this investigation, it was seen that the importance of this relation was lower statistically in the analysis of the QBO value in the 70 hPa height. Thus, we used the QBO values measured in the 10hPa height for the Multiple Regression Analysis continuing the work. The Multiple Regression Analysis method which identifies the long term relation between two variables was used to introduce the statistical analysis of the relationship between ∆NmF2 and QBO. During this analysis, the effective and important parameters as the conditions of solar maximum and solar minimum on the NmF2 were taken into account, separately. Furthermore, we emphasized the equatorial abnormality which was the main purpose of the study by evaluating separate models for the 12:00 Local Time (LT) and 24:00 LT. In the application results, the variations of the ∆NmF2 values were changed depending on solar cycle the station and the local time along with the approximately 58% and 89% amount of the QBO value were seen.
