Abstract (EN)
İzmir city has supplied water needs from various sources which are close to city surounding for many years. Some time later, the İzmir city has had to connect more and more sources which are far away from the city. The negativities emerging while this underground (groundwater) and surface sources reaching to city from the different regions should be kept under control to maintaining quality of service. Also, water management and planning of distribution of available resources have to be done efficiently to prevent global warming, dwindling resources and polluiton of water. For this reason, SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system and the water distribution system monitored continuosly as 24 hours and controlled pumps and valves from a distance when needed to provide effective water traffic control. However, pre-planned rapid and appropriate solutions should be applied when unfavorable conditions emerged in the drinking water supply and distribution.Mathematical simulation model was created for the existing drinking water distribution system due to applying the pre-planning solutions for the existing system may cause irreversible consequences. Area measurements (flow and level) from historical database of SCADA system have been based on to calculate the amount of waterstored, the production-consumption regions and sources that providing water to city. The alternative business opportunities, and / or what may be the optimal solution, system simulation prior to the actual application, analysis and reporting can be made with the scenario function created in model. In addition, management analysis performed with model application will be used for urban water management planning system to predict the future, providing the economic exploitation and so on.
