Abstract (EN)
Increasing economic activities and industrial development, high rate of population growth and negative effects of environmental and climatic changes cause both quantitative and qualitative problems related to water. In order to prevent these problems, existing water resources should be evaluated in the light of conscious and systematic approaches. As part of this thesis, in 11 Central districts of Izmir city, which is Turkey's third largest city, drinking water sources, water supply systems, facilities and investments were examined from different angles and a large window. Current resources, water needs and water losses and the situation expected to occur in 2030 was evaluated. In addition, alternative water resources, additional needs and the prevention of water losses were examined. As a result, it is foreseen that the amount of loss-leakage water will be reduced to 15.44% in 2030 if the water loss reduction studies continue regularly. As of the year 2030, the total need for water in 11 districts was estimated to be 265.797.049.4 m , and additional resources were explored to meet this need. In addition, solutions have been proposed to reduce the water loss-leakage ratio below the limit of 10%.
