Abstract (EN)
In this study, chemical composition, energy content and microbiological status of dairy cattle feeds produced in compound feed factories of Izmir province were investigated. For this purpose, a total of 81 dairy cattle feed samples were collected from 10 compound feed factories operating in Izmir at three different times from 19 %, 20 % and 21 % crude protein containing dairy cattle feeds.According to the results obtained from this study, dry matter (DM) content of dairy cattle feed (n=81) was between 88.26 % and 94.01 %, crude ash (CA) content was between 6.25 % and 11.77 %, organic matter (OM) content was between 81.30 % and 87.01 %, crude protein (CP) content was between 18.12 % and 21.49 %, ether extract (EE) content was between 2.67 % and 4.92 %, crude fiber (CF) content was between 7.29 % and 11.47 %, nitrogen free extract (NFE) was between 49.59 % and 54.14 %, calcium (Ca) content was between 1.04 % and 2.85 %, phosphorus (P) content was between 0.52 % and 0.72 %, metabolizable energy (ME) content was between 2480 and 2748 kcal/kg, total mesophilic aerobic bacteria count (TMAB) ranged from 2.54 x 102 to 3.86 x 105 CFU/g and total aflatoxin (TA) levels varied between 1.61 and 5.38 ppb.Differences between DM, CA, OM, EE, CF, Ca, and ME contents of the dairy cattle feed produced in feed factories were found to be statistically significant (P <0.05), whereas differences between CP, NFE, P, and total aflatoxin contents were insignificant (P> 0.05). In 19 % CP containing dairy cattle feeds for DM, 19 % and 20 % CP containing dairy cattle feeds for CA, 19 % CP containing dairy cattle feeds for OM, 19 % and 21 % CP containing dairy cattle feeds for EE, 19 % CP containing dairy cattle feeds for CF, 21 % CP containing dairy cattle feeds for Ca and 19 % CP containing dairy cattle feeds for ME were found significantly differences (P <0.05).When the feed factories examined (n=10) were compared in terms of dairy cattle feed legal norm, it was found that the dairy cattle feed production in all compound feed factories was found in legal norm in terms of DM, CP, CF, P and ME, but in terms of CA in 1 factory and in terms of Ca in all compound feed factories were determined out of legal norm production. When the dairy cattle feeds produced in compound feed factories were evaluated microbiologically, it was observed that the total mesophilic aerobic bacteria count and total aflatoxin levels were not exceeded the legal allowed limits.According to results of this study, it is possible to say that the crude nutrient, minerals, energy content and microbiological status of the dairy cattle feeds produced in compound feed factories in Izmir province varied unstably.
