Abstract (EN)

Japanese painting, of which historical process traces to Before the Christian Era (BCE) , tries to adjust to the new world order by evolving within the process without losing its identity. It also carries this into effect by means of using anime and staying true to manga which is a comic book culture coming from its own essence. Preserving their traditional structure, Japanese people found themselves in a completely different position after going down in defeat in World War II. Hereafter, that defeat meant that they had to be open to other cultures. Within all of these unfavourable living conditions, the manga phenomenon, which Japanese people never gave up on and was a symbol of the resistance, continued protecting its position and being a hope. Along with the technological developments, while preserving its entity, manga was converted to anime, a type of cartoon watchable on screens. Fans of manga and anime, who are increasing in number and becoming popular gradually, created the cosplay phenomenon through removing the characters that they identify themselves with from the imaginary world and transferring them into the real world with various costumes and makeup. In this way they escaped from the monotony and experienced another dimension that the world of comics offering them. They also continued sharing this beautiful story with an ever increasing mass. Manga and Anime characters, which are known especially with Miyazaki Cartoons, are loved and embraced well in Turkey. Art of Cosplay, which is accepted as a way to express this love around the world, is also practiced in our country admiringly.
