Japanese writing system and interactive teaching

In this thesis, the issue of how the interactive teaching of the Japanese writing system can be done is emphasised. How to transfer the most frequently used kanji to the learners was seen as the main problem of the study. Lists obtained from educational, news and internet sources formed the database of this study. The lists were compared to determine the common and uncommon kanji, and according to the data obtained, a new list consisting of the most frequently used and 100 kanji was determined. This list was given to the learners in the form of video lessons in an interactive environment and evaluations were made at the end of the lessons. As a result, it was determined that the learners read the most frequently used kanji and learnt their meanings at their own pace, regardless of time and place within the scope of individual learning.
