Abstract (EN)

The micritic limestone Demirkazik Formation, which presents a stratified, broken and cracked structure with a lateral length of 42 m, located around the village of Gildirli, 15 km north of the Karaisalı District of Adana province. In the scope of this study, the cherted levels examined were included in all levels of the unit. The crests subject to examination are classified according to their length and internal structure.5-175 cm long between the decal lens, 1-7 cm long in the form of nodules between the decal lump and the layer broken cracks developed in the structure of the chert formed by surface plastering is grouped as chert. Chert levels range from 1-6 cm thick. It has been observed that the lenses extend regularly or irregularly in the lateral direction. While there are chert nodules on the upper surfaces of the unit, chert lenses and cherts formed by surface plastering were observed in the middle and lower parts.Since there are no fossils of silica-secreting microorganisms in thin cross-section studies, it is believed that the silica rock that provides the formation of chert is quartz-rich rocks
