Abstract (EN)

Transfer hydrogenation is a more useful method than molecular hydrogenation due to the presence of stable hydrogen providers used in catalytic hydrogenation. In addition, interest in the reactions is increasing due to their properties such as the large number of easily available alcohols in transfer hydrogenation and lower cost and environmentally friendly reaction conditions. Secondary alcohols, which lead to the production of commercially important pharmaceuticals, agricultural substances, perfumes, sweeteners and special materials, are obtained as a result of the reduction of the relevant ketones. To convert carbonyl compounds into the corresponding alcohols, 2-propanol was used as a hydrogen source in this study because it is very stable, easy to work with, non-toxic and inexpensive. When the catalysts developed for transfer hydrogenation reactions to date are examined, it is seen that the hydrogen transfer process can only be achieved by catalytic methods in the presence of a suitable catalyst. Although the majority of the systems used as catalysts in transfer hydrogenation reactions to date have been Ru-centered coordination compounds, recently, with increasing momentum, both colloidal and supported structures containing Ru nanoparticles are also used as catalysts. In this study, K-OMS-2, a cheap and non-toxic supporting material for the production of heterogeneous metal catalyst, was prepared according to the literature by the reflux method and Ru@K with different percentages (0.1%, 0.5%, 1%, 2%, 3%) of Ru metal. -OMS-2 nanoparticles were synthesized by wet impregnation and chemical reduction method Structural and morphological properties of Ru@K-OMS-2 nanomaterials P-XRD (Powder X-ray diffraction), TEM (Transmission Electron Microscopy), SEM (Scanning Electron microscopy), EDX (Energy Dispersive X-ray spectroscopy), XPS (X -rays were illuminated by advanced analytical methods such as Photoelectron spectroscopy), BET (Brunauer-Emmett-Teller surface area characterization). Then, the catalytic efficiency of Ru@K-OMS-2 nanoparticles in transfer hydrogenation reactions was investigated. Catalytic conversion rates were determined by gas chromatography method. According to the investigations, it was determined that the catalytic activity of the Ru@K-OMS-2 nanocatalyst loaded with 3% by weight Ruthenium metal was higher than other nanocatalysts (0.1%, 0.5%, 1%, 2%). In addition, in our thesis study, the effects of variables such as temperature, base type and Substrate: Catalyst: Base ratio on the performance of transfer hydrogenation reactions were investigated. Thus, it was determined that the catalytic effect of acetophenone in transfer hydrogenation with 3% Ru@K-OMS-2 nanocatalyst was 95% at 82 ºC and 5 hours of conversion.
