Abstract (EN)

With the developments in textile technology and increase in people's living standards, the demands from apparel sector have changed. Besides body movement comfort and aesthetic comfort, thermal comfort also became a required qualification. In recent years, following technical textiles, the most studied topic is clothing comfort. The studies for increasing the diversity of knitted fabrics gained speed in order to create new patterns by using different loop structures such as float and tuck structures. Double pique knitted structure produced by repeating the tuck or float structures have different physical and thermal comfort characteristics than basic knitted structures. Researches conducted on these structures which are characterized as three dimensional fabrics due to their higher thickness have been gradually increased. This comprehensive study about the ottoman rib and jersey cord fabrics was performed in two stages. In the first stage, ottoman rib and jersey cord fabrics were produced on a circular knitting machine by varying the production parameters. In the second stage, the physical and thermal comfort properties of the fabrics were investigated in detail and fabric types providing optimum thermal comfort and performance properties have been tried to introduce.
