Abstract (EN)
Border security is vital for a country and for those who live in a that country. As a result all the countries around the world uses some sort of solutoins to protect their borders. At the same time and on the other hand increasing the border security comes with a great amount of economic problems. In this thesis I tried to identify how to use technology to protect the borders of Turkey and to minimize the illegal entries. To reach this purpose I examined the overall view of the borders of Turkey and identified the negative aspects of the system that is being used. I examined the wireless sensor networks which work without interpretation for sensing the illegal entries. I examined the parts of this system and tried to explain how it can be used to protect the land borders of Turkey. I tried to suggest a sensor type that can sense a person, a soldier and a vehicle. Also it is required to understand the differences between this targets. All the words that is ?border? means ?Land Border?. This thesis is not interested in water or air borders.
