Investigation of metacognitive processes of Women's A-National Wrestling team in terms of various variables

In this study, it was aimed to determine whether the metacognitive processes of the Women's A-National Wrestling team during the competition vary according to their demographic characteristics. For this purpose, the "Metacognitive Processes During Performance Questionnaire", developed by Love, Dymand and Lovell (2019) and adapted to Turkish by Beytullah Gürsal in 2022, was applied. First, the suitability of the scale for the sample group was tested with the AMOS program. Research data were analyzed using the SPSS 26 package program. Descriptive statistics of the data such as frequency and percentage were shown, and descriptive statistics of each sub-dimension of the scale were extracted and interpreted. As a result of the normality tests performed on the collected data, it was determined that the data did not show a normal distribution. For this reason, the non-parametric statistical tests Kruskal Wallis Test and Mann Whitney-U Test were applied to compare independent variables. In the results where there was a significant difference, the effect value of the source of the difference was calculated with the Rosenthal formula. Additionally, the reliability of the data was checked by calculating Cronbach's Alpha coefficients. According to the results obtained, the metacognitive processes of the wrestlers during the competition; It has been determined that the scores vary according to the variables of age, educational status, years of involvement in sports, best success level, I care about my coach's opinions, and my coach's notifications affect me during the competition.
