Sociological analysis of opinions on violence against women and awareness on types of violence: The case of Nigde

Violence is a severe problem and violence against women is a universal problem observed all over the world. Violent is any negative behavior intended to intimidate and intimidate people. Violence; Its duration over time and years is a phenomenon that hinders rights and freedoms. Violent attacks of aggression can be learned during the socialization process. Violence against women can be called a mechanism that emerges from adulthood, such as culture, media, stereotypes, etc., to provide a science against women as an indicator of men's power. This study aims to address violence against women and learn the opinions of individuals with different qualifications in society regarding this problem. For this purpose, the sample group; It is composed of people who vary in terms of factors such as age, gender, socio-economic level. The study also aims to understand the perspectives of individuals forming the society regarding violence against women and to see their awareness. At the same time, the study also aims to see how violence is interpreted depending on its types, whether it is normalized or not, and what factors shape perspectives on violence. In addition, the study tried to examine the sources that are effective in normalizing violence. In the first part of the study, the problem of the research, the purpose of the research, the importance of the research, various definitions on the subject and the limitations of the research are mentioned. In the second part of our study, the conceptual and theoretical framework is mentioned. In this section, the concept of violence is defined, the causes of violence are examined under eight subheadings, and then the concept of the cycle of violence is mentioned. Then, the subject was narrowed down and the definition of violence against women was made, the types of violence against women were mentioned, the focus was on violence against women and gender interaction, how the media reflects and feeds violence was mentioned, the consequences of violence against women were mentioned, and eight theories on the subject were given in this section. When it comes to the third part, the method of the research; The research model, population and sample, data collection tools, interview form, reliability and validity of the research, analysis and interpretation of data are explained. The fourth part of the study includes the findings and discussion section. In the last part of the study, the subject is discussed in general and some suggestions are presented.
