Entrepreneurship tendency of women and an application on women master students of the Dumlupınar University

Involvement of women in labor force is considered to be a key element of sustainable development. As a result of the economic policy changes worldwide, women entrepreneurship has been spread out of the traditional fields and started to breathe its existence in the semi-traditional and non-traditional sectors. Nevertheless, management positions are in a small proportion among the career choices preferred by women.Entrepreneurship potential of men and women are influenced by the following enterprising senses: the ability of taking risk and responsibility, the desire of controling the people and the evenings happening around, and being open to new developments.When the education levels of the women entrepreneurs are analyzed, it is seen that a very small proportion of the women entrepreneurs have a college degree or a master?s degree.This study aims to investigate the effect of the enterprising senses influencing the entrepreneurship potential of the women with a master?s degree or prusuing a master?s degree.In this study, a survey is conducted to 100 women, who obtained their master?s degree or prusuing their master?s degree at the Graduate School of Social Sciences and Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences of Dumlupinar University. The data gathered through the survey is analyzed via the SPSS 12.0 software. It is observed that the women entrepreneurship potential is strongly affected by the enterprising senses. In addition, women entrepreneurship potential and the enterprising sense of a women are found to be influenced by the woman?s level of income, the department from which the undergraduate degree has been obtained, and the sector the woman works.
