Abstract (EN)

In Islam, both men and women are responsible for performing the acts of worship commanded by Allah. However, there are special circumstances in which women or men may be prohibited from performing certain acts of worship. The prohibition is due to situations that prevent worship or reasons that we cannot comprehend with our minds. The aim of this study is to examine whether a woman, due to her physical and biological characteristics such as menstruation, puerperium, and istihâze, can perform the acts of worship she is responsible for during her normal times, and whether it is necessary to make up for these prayers if she does not. The opinions of Islamic sects and scholars such as Ibn Hazm and Ibn Taymiyya will be discussed and compared with the ideas of some contemporary researchers.
