Abstract (EN)
The aim of this thesis is to determine the permeability of gyttja unit in Sector E of Afşin-Elbistan Lignite basin and to determine its importance in terms of dewatering. In this context, in the E-Sector selected as the study area, aquifer test was planned and 12 pumping wells and 35 observation wells were drilled at different depths. In order to determine the yield of aquifer and well in these wells, 16 stage test, 29 constant flow attraction tests and 40 slug tests were performed in observation wells. Both geological model, groundwater origin evaluations and tests conducted within the E-Sector have shown that the coal-gyttja layers in the E-Sector is largely impermeable and pressurized between two clay levels of considerable thickness. Conceptually; it is concluded that there is no significant hydraulic exchange between these two systems which have the characteristics of confined and unconfined. In addition, according to the improvement isotope analysis, it can be said that the groundwater in the gyttja and coal layers are the waters in the pores during the formation of the units.
