Abstract (EN)

The memory, which adds meaning to the existence of human beings, develops and strengthens with what is seen and heard. This situation prompted people to share over time and subsequently, individual memory laid the groundwork for the formation of social memory. The social memory created by various issues such as writing, painting and oral culture has been transferred to the next generations and the effort of human beings to always save a copy of the truth in an untouched way has ensured the preservation of the social memory. This process started in the 1800s when people painted and recorded what they saw. After the moving image became recordable, people first used this opportunity to express themselves, and then transformed it into an artistic form in the name of social memory, leading to the emergence of cinema. Along with the elements that feed the art of cinema, the formation of a language called cinematography has also been paved. In cinematography, the narrative form has been developed over time by making use of emotions and thoughts, and the camera has come to the fore as the most important tool for this. In this direction, the camera, beyond being a recording mechanism, has gained meaning as the eyes of the audience in terms of presenting the director's and the audience's perception because of the directors' telling of their own world. Thus, the camera has continued its technical and semantic development until today.
