The role of digitalization on transparency in public administration

Digitalization in public administration refers to the execution of services and transactions via the internet and other technologies. This requires public institutions to update their processes and technologies to provide services that citizens can access faster and more easily. Digitalization offers opportunities to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and distribute services more fairly. For example, with digitalization, citizens can perform their transactions online, while public institutions can provide services more efficiently by analyzing data better. However, digital tools also include important issues such as citizen security and protection of personal data. Transparency in administration enables managers and public institutions to carry out their activities honestly and openly. Therefore, it allows institutional decisions and activities to be more easily understood and supported by the public. In addition, the quality and effectiveness of a service or product can be better evaluated through transparency. Transparency is especially important for public institutions because transparency enables the public to understand government activities and evaluate the accuracy and effectiveness of government decisions. Today, many countries use various laws, regulations, and mechanisms to increase transparency in public administration. Transparency facilitates the functioning of accountability mechanisms and increases the reliability of the administration. This situation ensures the public's trust in the government, while emphasizing that the government is accountable to the public. In this context, transparency plays a very important role in public administration. Since digitalization allows public institutions to share data more transparently and accessiblely, thus preventing corruption and managing services more efficiently, there is a relationship between digitalization and transparency in public administration. In this context, we can say that digitalization has the potential to provide transparency in public administration. In the study, the relationship between digitalization and transparency of public administration is discussed.
