Abstract (EN)

This study aims to understand the effects of childhood traumas on posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and depression levels in Karabakh War veterans and refugees who had to migrate from Karabakh. In this light, the study aims to examine the effects of war and forced migration on individuals' mental health and to reveal how these processes are related to negative experiences in childhood. The Karabakh War has had a long-term impact on people. Wars and displacement have been shown to increase the risk of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and depression. This study focuses specifically on Karabakh War veterans and refugees at the intersection of war-related trauma and displacement. The selection of these populations was based on the need to understand how war hardships, combined with childhood trauma, shape mental health outcomes.
